Cobb School Alumni Association

Cobb School Alumni Association, uniting the past and present of Cobb School Montessori, where memories flourish and legacies begin.

Since 1974, Cobb School Montessori has been more than just a school; it’s been the stepping stone that prepared students for greater things.  The sense of belonging, independence, and confidence that was instilled by the motto, ‘Believe, Guide, Step Aside, Let Fly’ is reflected in the accomplishments of our alumni.

In celebration of our 50th year and the many students who have walked our halls, we introduce the Cobb School Alumni Association. A group dedicated to connecting, supporting, and calling our Alumni home.

Dear Cobb Community,

We are writing on behalf of the Cobb School Alumni Association and we wanted to introduce ourselves. My name is Annabelle Jacobs and I graduated from the Cobb School in 2017. I then went on to attend Kingswood Oxford School and am currently a Freshman at The University of Virginia. Some of my favorite memories are performing in the Opera, my 6th-year class trip to Montreal, and art with Chris Lyles.

My name is Alex Kulicki and I graduated from the Cobb School in 2013. I am a recent graduate of the University of Chicago and now work as an Industry Analyst with the Center for Automotive Research. A few of my favorite memories include endless long-division problems, playing football during recess, and delving into D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths.

In the 50th year of the Cobb School, it is our hope that we can grow the Alumni Association to include more members and host regular events that everyone will enjoy. We want to connect the young alumni who are living all over the country and create a broad alumni network.

Sincerely,

Annabelle and Alex

2023-24 Events

6th Year Pizza Mentoring

Who better to offer advice on life after Cobb than alums who’ve been there? We’re looking for local alumni who attended a variety of schools in the area, from private to public, to answer questions and provide some guidance to our current 6th year class. If you’re interested in attending a Friday pizza lunch session, please contact marcie.braden@cobbschool.com.

Saturday, Oct 14, 2023 – Gather with Friends

We’re bringing back our traditional potlock evenings with friends, and we’d love for alumni to participate! Alums in the CT area who are over 18 are welcome to RSVP for this event by emailing marcie.braden@cobbschool.com. We’re trying to organize get togethers in Boston and NYC to gather local alumni together in celebration of Cobb on the same night. If you’re in either of those metro areas, please let us know if you’d be willing to host or would like to attend one of these events.

Saturday, Nov 4, 2023 – Country Fair & Homecoming

Calling All Alums! Join us for our 25th annual Country Fair. In honor of our 50th year, we will celebrate our homecoming, with special activities for Alums and Friends of Cobb School. Hosted on Cobb’s Campus from 11am-2pm, join us for food, live music, and more.

Saturday, April 28 2024 – 3rd Annual Arts Festival

We invite you to join us in celebration of the arts at Cobb in our 3rd annual Arts Festival. Take a walk down memory lane, view the amazing art by current students, and participate in our community art project this year – our 50th-year mural!

In addition to celebrating the works created by current students, we invite Cobb Alums to share their artwork with us for display at our Alumni tent. We are looking for Alums who have pursued the arts – either as a career or a hobby – since leaving our school. Please contact marcie.braden@cobbschool.com if you are interested in sharing your work at this year’s festival.

Friday, May 3rd 6-10pm – Auction @ Holcomb Farm

Alums 21+ are invited to a special cocktail hour with our current Board of Trustees and other invitees to raise a toast to Cobb before this year’s auction party kicks off.
