Delaware Water Gap Adventure
June 15 – 23, 2023

Days 1 – 2: Preparing & Skill Building
Thursday – Friday, Jun 15 – 16 (Day Camp, at Cobb School, 8:30 – 3:30 pm)
At school, campers will work with guides to learn skills they will need for a successful trip. We will work on:
- Team building
- Expedition behavior
- What to bring and how to pack
- How to keep your gear dry
- Menu planning & food prep
- Camp cooking & cleanup
- Tent setup and care
- Orienting to the landscape with a topographic map
Days 3 – 7: Skills into Practice: Paddling the Delaware
Sunday, June 18 (Overnight travel begins)
Day 3: 1:00 pm departure for Stroudsburg, PA, overnight at Delaware Water Gap KOA

Days 4 – 7: Paddling the Delaware (36 miles)
Monday – Friday, June 19 – 23
- Practice camping skills
- Learn proper paddling & steering techniques
- Learn to right a capsized canoe
- Visit the Pocono Environmental Education Center
- Hike and swim at Van Campen’s Glen
- Climb Kittatinny Mountain & visit glacial ponds
- Learn about the geology & landscape

Registration is now open!
The Delaware Water Gap Adventure is open to children aged 11 – 15 years. We welcome Cobb students and young alumni as well as students from other Montessori Schools of Connecticut member schools. Space is limited to 11 campers.
Campers can join this 7-day DWG Adventure for $1800 per person, this includes all activities, food, lodging and transportation.
Camping and backpacking gear will be provided through the program.
Registered campers will be sent a packing list detailing the required personal gear.

Important Registration Information: A camper is considered preliminarily registered once the Cobb School Montessori, Inc. receives the initial registration information, and deposit. A camper’s final acceptance, enrollment, and participation in a camp session is contingent on your full and timely payment of the remaining balance, the completion of the Enrollment Agreement, and all other required documents and waivers, Cobb Adventure Program’s review of your submitted registration, including all required (completed and/or signed) forms and information.
The Cobb Adventure Program welcomes all camper applicants to its programs and is able to accommodate camper participation in a variety of circumstances. However, our remote wilderness locations, high adventure activities, and delayed access to front-country medical care may, in some cases, result in CAP declining admission or ongoing participation because of medical or health concerns.
