"I feel so grateful to have found Cobb School Montessori for my two (almost three!) children. They are greeted by their teachers each morning with a welcoming smile and open arms, which they happily fall right into! When I arrive at the end of the morning to pick them up, they come to me with enormous smiles and a desire to return the next day (even if it’s Friday!)" - Parent Review on Niche
Applying to Cobb Montessori
Individualized attention is paramount to the Montessori philosophy and at Cobb Montessori, we carry that approach through the admissions process. We look forward to introducing you to our school and getting to know you throughout this process and beyond.
Step 1: Schedule a Tour
The first step in applying to Cobb Montessori is to schedule an adult-only meeting with our Director of Admissions, Melissa Shaw, who will guide you on a campus tour with classroom observation. We recommend an adult visit; however, we’re happy to have your child join you if that’s best for your family. This meeting is a time for us to learn more about your child and family while you learn more about our school.
For additional information please contact Melissa Shaw by phone at 860-658-1144 ext. 107 or by email at admissions@cobbschool.com.
Please note: There are limited spots for YCC and Primary children for the 2025-26 school year.
Step 2: Submit an Online Application for 2025-26
After your tour, you will submit an application using our online form, requiring a $100 fee.
- Early Decision Application Deadline: Dec 1, 2024
- Regular Application Deadline: February 15, 2025
After Feb 1, students will be admitted on a rolling basis if space becomes available.
When submitting an application, you will need to provide:
- Parent Questionnaire
- Teacher Recommendation Form
- Record/Transcript Release Form, sent directly from child’s current school
Step 3: Schedule a Family & Child Visit
Once your application has been received, you will receive an invitation for a meeting with our Head of School. If your child is under 3, they will join you for the meeting in her office. Children ages three and up will meet with a teacher in a classroom during your visit. Elementary visits will vary in length and are agreed upon by the family and guides. Classroom visits are customized to each child’s needs and readiness to join the classroom community.
Step 4: Admission Decision
Admission to Cobb School Montessori is determined with the utmost consideration for the individual applicant and the existing community. You will receive an email with our admissions decision. Upon notification of acceptance, a 10% non-refundable deposit is required to guarantee a student’s space, which will be applied to tuition. When individual classrooms reach their capacity, children may be added to the waiting list.
