The Cobb Fund

Letters become Words, Words become Actions

Our Culture of Giving enables the gifts that make the words we live by come to life to create the exceptional education provided at Cobb Montessori.

At Cobb Montessori, learning begins with the simplest of symbols: letters traced in sand and held in small hands. Through the sandpaper letters and moveable alphabet, our students begin to unlock the power of language. They discover that letters form words, and words carry meaning. Over time, those words become ideas, expressions of thought, and ultimately, actions that shape our world.

This same principle applies to the Cobb Annual Fund. Each gift, no matter the size, is a letter in the greater Alphabet of Giving. As individual gifts come together, they form the words that define our community: Joyful, Curious, Independent, Peaceful, Creative, Respectful, Resilient.

Every gift of support turns these words into action. It funds classroom materials, teacher training, financial aid, and all the small daily moments of discovery that define a Cobb education.

Every donation helps sustain our programs, enhance our beautiful campus, and ensure a high-quality Montessori education for each student. As a non-profit, we rely on this collective support to go beyond what tuition alone provides, enabling enriching opportunities like the arts, Montessori Model United Nations, and outdoor education. By giving to the Cobb Annual Fund, you are investing in our students’ growth today and the future of our community for years to come. Join us in making a meaningful difference, one contribution at a time – donate to the 2025-26 Cobb Annual Fund below.

Cobb was transformative for our son. The incredible staff fostered his intellect, while giving him space to explore who he is and the type of person he wants to be. We could not be happier with the four years Jasper had at Cobb. Our family takes every opportunity to support this incredible community, including visiting and continuing to donate to the Annual Fund.

Why Give to the Cobb Annual Fund?

The Cobb School Montessori Annual Fund is essential to maintaining our high-quality programs, enhancing our learning environments, and providing enriching experiences for our students. Tuition alone doesn’t cover the cost of offering the full Cobb Montessori experience. Your gift bridges this gap, allowing us to sustain and grow our vibrant community.

What does your gift support?

Cobb School Montessori relies on a Culture of Giving and support from our community. Each year, current and former parents, grandparents, friends, staff, and alumni come together to help us close the gap between tuition and operating costs.

Each year, we must raise up to 10% of our budget from fundraising efforts for

  • Provide high-quality a Montessori program
  • Enrich our student experiences
  • Train and develop guides and assistants
  • Offer financial aid
  • Enhance our meticulously prepared classrooms and beautiful campus

The Power of a Gift

Each gift to the Cobb Annual Fund, no matter the size, supports our students, staff, and programs. Here are some examples of what your gift can help us provide:

A Seed Donor gift could supply books for the library, supplies for the art studio, or a Montessori material for the classroom.

A Friend gift could help cover the expenses of a going-out for a real-world learning opportunity for students.

A gift to one of our Guilds could pay for professional development for our staff, expansions to our facilities, and so much more!

Frequently Asked Questions

Cobb School Montessori is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor for specific information regarding your donation.

Why does Cobb need an Annual Fund?

Tuition alone does not cover the costs of maintaining our high standards. The Annual Fund fills this gap and allows us to offer diverse, enriching experiences for our students.

How is the money raised by the Annual Fund used?

Donations to the Annual Fund support every area of school life, from enhancing classroom materials and funding enrichment programs to maintaining our facilities and supporting teacher development. Your contribution has a direct impact on the student experience.

Why doesn’t tuition cover all the school’s expenses?

Tuition is intentionally set at a level to keep our education accessible to more families, but it doesn’t cover the full cost of providing our programs and facilities. The Cobb Annual Fund helps bridge this gap, allowing us to offer an enriched Montessori education without relying solely on tuition increases.

I can only give a small gift, does it matter?

Every gift matters, regardless of size, and we encourage families to give at a level that feels meaningful to them. Contributions of all sizes combine to make a significant impact. Additionally,  the percentage participation of our community is a strong signal of approval and support when we apply for external grants from organizations and businesses. So your support, in any amount, benefits the school in many ways. We hope you consider making Cobb a top philanthropic priority.

What is the difference between the Annual Fund and other fundraising initiatives?

The Annual Fund supports immediate needs across the school year, like classroom materials, teacher training, and student programs. Other initiatives, such as capital campaigns or endowment funds, support long-term projects, building improvements, and financial stability.

Our Giving Day Challenge (and the activities associated with it) also go to support the Cobb Annual Fund.

What is a matching gift, and how do I make one?

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double or even triple your contribution to Cobb School Montessori. Contact your HR department to see if your employer matches charitable donations, and submit any necessary forms with your gift.

Can I give in honor of someone?

Yes, making a gift in honor or memory of someone special is a wonderful way to celebrate them. Just let us know on the donation form, and we will send an acknowledgment card to the honoree or their family if desired.

Can I designate my gift to a specific area?

While all donations to the Annual Fund are unrestricted to meet the school’s greatest needs, you can let us know if you’re particularly passionate about a specific area, like arts, outdoor education, or classroom resources. We welcome your input but reserve the right to apply funds where they’re needed if an area becomes over prescribed.

Will my donation be recognized publicly?

Yes, we recognize all donors in our Annual Report, unless you request to remain anonymous. We honor every gift, and each contribution makes a meaningful difference in our community.

I’ve already given; how else can I help?

Thank you for your support! Beyond financial contributions, you can help by sharing our mission with others, volunteering, or joining our community events. Every form of support strengthens Cobb School Montessori!
