The Evening
Come for the Cause, Stay for the Company
This is our last fundraising push for the year as well as our end-of-year celebration — a chance to close out an exceptional year together and raise a glass to the community that makes Cobb what it is. The evening is genuinely fun: good food, signature drinks, some fun games, and a few remarkable things to bid on.
Fundraising throughout the evening is secondary to our celebration but will include a brief (10-15min) live auction, The Plot Twist prize wall, and a Dessert Dash – all optional opportunities to support the school; the giving is a backdrop, not the main event and your attendance alone supports Cobb. Your ticket already supports the school…everything else is entirely up to you!
Dress as your favorite literary character — any level of commitment welcome. A full Victorian costume and a strategically placed scarf are equally celebrated.

New Haven Pizza Truck
Wood-fired pies from a proper pizza truck — outdoor, open air, exactly right for a May evening (gluten-free available).
Bar Service
Whimsically Tipsy pours signature cocktails inside, beer and wine outside, and a mocktail always available.
Charcuterie
BEEBuzzed trailer up in a horse trailer with beautifully curated charcuterie cups (gluten-free and vegan options).
Heads or Tails Game
A fast, free, everyone-plays warm-up game with a suprise gift to the person who predicts the coin flip the most times!
Name Tag Matching Game
Break the ice by finding a perfect match (or matches) to your name tag secret word. Snap a Polaroid with your pairs!
Costume Prizes
Get into the spirit and win prizes for costumes! Categories may include best couples, best individual, most committed, and most creative.
All of this is yours the moment you walk in. Everything else on the menu is optional.
The Theme
Dress the Part.
Any Part.
Any character. Any era. Any level of commitment. Come as Elizabeth Bennet or the Very Hungry Caterpillar — both are equally valid. From adding a scarf to a full Victorian get-up, all costumes are welcome. This year’s theme has been The Alphabet of Giving, from our Annual Appeal to our Read-a-thon, we’ve celebrated language in our classrooms, where letters become words, and words become actions. Now, we’re quite literally bringing those words to life with literary costumes!
Awards and Prizes for Best Individual Costume, Best Couple’s Costume, Most Committed, and Most Creative. Announced throughout the evening (Trustees have volunteered to serve as judges for this fun competition)!

We hope to keep the structured portion of the evening brief so that we can all enjoy each other’s company and celebrate!
Doors Open
Arrive, check in, grab a drink. Raffle and envelope wall tickets on sale. Find your name tag matches and show off your costumes!
Food & Friends
Nibble on charcuterie from the BEEBuzzed truck while you connect with friends and browse The Plot Twist prize wall and raffle basket. New Haven Pizza Truck will start serving delicious wood fired pizza.
Heads or Tails · Dessert Dash
We will have a lively but quick round of Heads or Tails (free for all, prize included). Then the Dessert Dash — teams, bids, a sprint.
Live Auction · Paddle Raise
Three items. Brief and celebratory. The Paddle Raise closes on a collective, inclusive note.
Costume Prizes · Raffle Draw
Winners announced. The Local Chapter raffle basket goes home with someone lucky.
Goodnight
Go home and relieve the babysitter or make a night of it and hit an afterparty!

There’s something for every budget and every comfort level. Your ticket is support in itself, everything else is optional, but all of it matters. Please support in whatever way is comfortable to you…or just come for the food and company!

Raffle: The Local Chapter Basket
One curated basket of local favorites — gift cards, local goods, things you’ll love, contributed by our parents, Trustees, and local business partners! This was our most popular basket last year and it did not disappoint! Drawing at 8:00 PM.

Dessert Dash
Form a team, make a bid and dash for your dessert! It’s exactly as chaotic and delightful as it sounds. Bidding cards distributed at the event. (Gelato cups will be available for everyone after the Dessert Dash, no purchase necessary).
Teams with the highest bid will “dash” for desserts first.

Live Auction & Paddle Raise
We will have a brief live auction featuring three items, including our school-wide fingerprint art piece, a highly desired art piece, and a special vacation package.
After the lively auction, we will do our annual Paddle Raise. This year, every dollar goes directly toward the Prepared Environment: the floors, the materials, the physical spaces where your children spend their days. There’s no minimum. There’s no wrong amount…every amount adds to something greater. . Every gift is announced collectively — this one belongs to the whole room.
Your card is saved when you purchase tickets and charged after the event. No cash, no hassle.

Classroom Project Fundraiser
Every class has created something — keepsake books or art pieces compiled from the year’s work. Available for purchase in advance, and on display at the event on a dedicated bookshelf. We are asking every family to participate in this fundraiser to help us reach our annual goals.
